When I write songs, I start with an emotion and try to replicate it with my violin. For my first album (released in March 2014) I spent a lot of time thinking about home: nostalgia for my childhood home in Louisiana, love for my present home in Winnipeg, and acknowledgment of myself as a settler on stolen land.
I perform my compositions live on my violin, often with the help of a loop pedal.
